Based on the Canadair CL600 and CRJ200, the Challenger 850 is a twin-engine business jet designed for medium-haul flights. Bombardier Challenger 850, which has the largest interior volume of the Challenger series, has a cabin length of 14.76 m, cabin height of 1.85 m and cabin width of 2.49 m.

The cabin includes an in-flight mapping system, digital cabin entertainment systems, touch-screen cabin control systems, LCD screens, a redesigned kitchen, two toilets, SATCOM telephone, LED lighting and passenger audio/video input.

CL850, which has a passenger capacity of approximately 20-25 pieces of luggage and up to 16 seats, is one of the most preferred models in terms of price-performance in the Super Medium and Large Jet categories.

Challenger 850 can reach a speed of 850 km per hour with the General Electric CF34-3B1 engines it uses. Despite its advantages in cabin, seat and luggage space, it lags behind the large jet class in terms of the maximum distance it can travel. This aircraft, which is especially preferred for medium-distance multi-passenger private jet flights, is also included in the Super Medium Cabin class due to its maximum range.
